Reception on the occasion of Russia Day in the Embassy of Russia in Greece (Athens, June 12, 2018)
On June 12, 2018 the Embassy of Russia in Greece held a state reception on the occasion of the National holiday of the Russian Federation – Russia Day and 190 years of diplomatic relations between Russia and Greece. The event was attended by numerous representatives of political, military, business and religious circles of Greece, regional and municipal officials, heads of diplomatic missions, journalists.
Among the guests were Minister of Interior of Greece P.Skourletis, Minister of National Defense P.Kammenos, Alternate Foreign Minister, co-Chairman of the Joint Russian-Greek Commission on Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation G.Katrougalos, First Deputy Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament A.Kourakis, President of Areios Pagos V.Peppas, Prosecutor General of Greece X.Dimitriou-Vassilopoulou, Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff Admiral Ev.Apostolakis, Secretary General of the Administration of the President of the Hellenic Republic G.Gennimatas, the representative of the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Ieronymos II.
In his welcoming speech the Ambassador of Russia to Greece Andrey Maslov emphasized the high dynamics of the development of the friendly relations between Russia and Greece, the intensive political dialogue at the highest and high levels, the determination to implement the mutually beneficial joint projects.
At the reception musicians of the State Academic Folk Ensemble “Russia”, named after Liudmila Zykina, performed traditional Russian songs.
